Wedding Flowers – Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book my wedding florist?
Ideally 6–12 months before the wedding, especially for in-season dates or popular venues. However, shorter notice bookings may still be possible depending on availability.

How much do wedding flowers cost per person or per head?
It depends on the style, quantity, venue size, and flower types. A rough guide: from £40–£100+ per person, though many weddings average £800–£3,000 for full floral design.

What does a wedding florist typically include in their service?
Common inclusions: consultation, design proposal, bouquet(s), buttonholes, ceremony floral installations, reception table arrangements, venue décor, delivery, setup, and teardown.

How many arrangements / bouquets will we need?
You’ll need a bridal bouquet, bridesmaids’ bouquets, groom/ushers’ buttonholes, ceremony florals (aisle, arch, pedestals), reception centrepieces, cake flowers, and possibly more.

Can I choose specific flowers or colours for my wedding flowers?
Yes — you can request favourite blooms or colour themes. Your florist will advise on seasonal availability and alternatives if something is not available.

What are the trending wedding flower styles?
Popular trends include lush garden-style arrangements, dried flowers / pampas, wildflower mixes, tonal palettes, and statement installations (flower walls, overhead installations).

What is a “signature bouquet”?
A custom bouquet that reflects your style, venue, and personal preferences — often designed around favourite flowers, colours, or motifs.

Do you offer consultations or mood boards?
Yes — we provide design consultations and visual mockups (photos, mood boards) to align vision before finalising.

Do you charge for travel, setup or teardown?
Often yes — additional costs may apply for distance, venue access, setup complexity, early morning delivery, or labor-intensive teardown.

When do you deliver and set up wedding flowers?
Typically the morning of the wedding; exact schedule depends on venue access and your timeline. Some florals may be delivered a day early (for rehearsal) if permitted.

Can you deliver to multiple venues (ceremony + reception)?
Yes — we can coordinate transportation and staging between venues if needed. Additional travel/setup fees may apply.

Is there a minimum order or budget for weddings?
Many florists set a minimum budget (e.g., £1,000+) to cover design, labour, and logistics. Smaller weddings or elopements may have more limited options.

Can you work with my existing décor / venue features?
Yes — we love integrating with venue features (stairs, beams, architecture) or dressing existing décor elements to elevate the space.

Do you offer floral instalments or installations (arches, walls, hanging)?
Yes — we design bespoke installations like flower arches, backdrops, hanging installations, and floral structures for dramatic impact.

What happens to the florals after the wedding?
You may take some home (bouquet, centrepieces). We can also remove florals at teardown, or donate to hospice, care homes, or repurpose them for brunch / thank-you table.

Can I preserve my wedding bouquet?
Yes — you can dry or press flowers, or use preservation services through a professional—ask your florist for recommendations.

Can you replicate designs from a photo?
Yes — send the image, and we can replicate style, palette, or feel. Some substitutions (for seasonal / local blooms) may occur.

When do I pay / what is your deposit policy?
Typically a deposit (e.g. 30–50%) is required upon booking, with remainder due nearer the wedding date (e.g. 2–4 weeks prior).

Do you offer payment plans?
Depending on size of the order and time frame, we may offer instalment plans. Discuss this at consultation.

What if something changes (guest count, venue, colours)?
We request changes as early as possible; small adjustments may be accommodated. Significant changes within weeks may incur extra cost.

Will you provide a mock layout / floor plan of floral placement?
Yes — for more complex weddings, we provide layout plans, sketches or digital mockups so you can visualise before installation.

Do you coordinate with other vendors (planner / photographer / venue)?
Absolutely — we liaise with your planner, photographer, caterer and venue staff to ensure timing, details, and logistics go smoothly.

Can you decorate the wedding arch, aisle, or ceremony space?
Yes — we design and install floral decor for arches, aisle markers, hanging installations, pedestals, backdrops, etc.

How do you protect flowers outdoors (heat, wind, rain)?
We choose sturdier blooms for outdoor use, hydrate them well, use floral foam / structure, wrap arrangements where needed, and work in covered setups or back-up plans if possible.

Do you offer bridal party flower packages?
Yes — we bundle bouquets + buttonholes + corsages at special package pricing.

Are there additional charges for weddings on weekends / holidays?
Possibly — peak date surcharges (Saturdays, holidays) may apply due to demand and logistic premium.

What is your cancellation / refund policy?
Typically, deposits are non-refundable after a certain point. Cancellation policies vary — you’ll find full terms in your contract.

How far in advance should I confirm my final flower order / guest numbers?
Final numbers and florals are usually confirmed around 4–6 weeks before the wedding.

Do you have a portfolio / gallery of weddings you’ve done?
Yes — you can view our gallery or request printed / digital portfolios of past wedding projects.

Can we meet in person / visit your workshop?
Of course — we welcome meetings in our studio or venue walkthroughs to refine designs.
